Whoa! 2300 people in it?! Brooklyn alone has 2,567,098 (according to google.) But yeah, since there's a great variety of Art & specialized schools, I had it really easy. The audition process was a lot of fun for High Schools. I wish everyone got the NY experience :( lol
Yep, I grew up in a pretty small town. 2300 people was actually a big town compared to the ones nearby. (The lowest population sign I saw was 90 people.) We had two stop lights, got a week off from school for deer season, and partied in the woods. Ever watch the t.v. show Northern Exposure? Yeah..it was a lot like that. We even had a restaurant humorously called Northern Exposure. :P
I have so much artwork piling up that I’m running out of room. I’m deciding to sell some of my work in order to make room for more. These will be original drawings and some sketches. The prices will be about $10 - $50, so if you’re interested, stay tuned.
Apologies if you've answered this already, but what sorts of things still give you problems? You're pictures are excellent, and I'm still learning, so I always get skittish when things like metal armour need to be added!
If there’s anything that I have a hard time with, it’s inking. I can not ink. My pencil work is pretty sound, but when it comes to inking I seriously lack. They’re stiff, inexpressive and boring. I have so many pens, brushes and nibs and have tried so many styles that nothing seems to give me hope. It’s all in my head though.
When it comes to actual drawing, I don’t really have that one thing that gives me problems. There are things I don’t overly get giddy about drawing like hands and feet. But, I usually tackle it with the thought that if I get the general shape and outline down, I can pretty much go on from there. Basically, I have to make myself like it.
I love how you aren’t selfish with sharing informations like this.
Like I said, I enjoy helping people. Art is supposed to be a personal journey on the road of self expression…or something like that. Sometimes it’s fun just drawing something cool for the sake of drawing something cool.
I find it weird/funny when artist refuse to share their “secrets” of drawing, like they’re afraid other people will steal their magic and use it for themselves. Because, truthfully, if there’s an artist out there with some magic drawing secret I want in on it. I’ve been relying on practice and hard work this whole time.
I am so intoxicated by your sketching and your artwork, every single bit of it is phenomenal. I guess I just wanted to express how awesome it was to stumble upon your tumblr :)
keep being incredible.
Thank you! I’m so flattered by your comments! :D You know, I’ll admit, I never see the “awesomeness” of it, I’m so close to it all the time I end up seeing just the flaws. It’s nice to have someone appreciate it once in a while, it reminds me to not be so hard on myself.
