Working out different “three color palettes” which range from dull to high key. Really interesting to see the variety of colors you can achieve.
Brushing up on my portrait work with a couple of sketches.
Was able to fit in some time for painting today. A little 5” x 7” piece. Watercolor, pen and ink, colored pencil.
“Alice in Wonderland” WIP: The main part of the poster/book cover is painted. A few more details needed to make this a finished piece. I actually enjoyed working with a limited color palette on this. I used it as an excuse to see what my main “go to” colors are. It’s a great way to work with mixing colors in order to achieve a full spectrum.

Been working on this piece for the last couple days. Very much fun. :D
Also, I love corgis. :D If I could only get mine to enjoy a ride as much as this one does.
Pretty sure I’m done with this. Going to leave it on the table and walk back and forth for a bit and see if there’s anything else to add.

Spent today playing around with some loose style painting. This was a fun little experiment.
Well, it’s my birthday today! I’m turning 19..again..for the tenth year in a row. So, I thought I’d post the first piece I did this year as a way to show thanks for another year of being creative.
Hawk: Watercolor, 5” x 4” Watercolor Paper
Working with some hand mixed paint from pigments. This is another direct painting with no pencil sketching first.
